Hustle Hoops DMV was founded by Coach Sloan, a dedicated youth basketball coach with over a decade of experience serving young athletes throughout the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. With a lifelong passion for the game, Coach Sloan witnessed firsthand how basketball could be a powerful outlet for youth teaching discipline, building confidence, and providing a positive escape from everyday challenges.

Growing up, he spent countless hours on community courts and at local rec centers that helped shape his love for the game and his sense of purpose. But as time passed, Coach Sloan noticed a troubling trend: too many neighborhoods, both urban and suburban, were losing access to safe, quality basketball spaces. Courts were disappearing, parks were underfunded, and the need for safe, engaging activities for youth was greater than ever.

With a vision to fill that gap, Coach Sloan, along with his family, launched Hustle Hoops DMV—a mobile basketball experience designed to bring the court to the community. From parties and school events to neighborhood block parties and tournaments, Hustle Hoops DMV is more than a game—it’s a movement to keep our youth engaged, inspired, and out of trouble.
